- Compressed Air: The drive piston does not directly touch the “flying piston.” Instead, the rapid back-and-forth motion compresses a pocket of air between the two.
- Powerful Blow: This compressed air forcefully pushes the flying piston forward, which in turn strikes the end of the drill bit. This process generates a much more powerful and efficient hammer blow (measured in Joules) than a standard hammer drill.
